My Soup Pot is Full 10-30-07

I think this has got to be one of the most fantastic places in the US to witness the Autumn. It is amazing. Pennsylvania has so many trees, and, when you look at them on the hill right now, it reminds me of a floral bouquet. Oranges, Yellows, Reds and Greens. A patchwork medley of vibrancy. I know I will miss them when the leaves fall away, leaving the trees naked and bare. I tried to put a thought of seeing the trees celebrate the winter with their branches (arms) raised up to the sky. I hope that will help.

As most of you know, I have taken a year off of working to just take a break, to be with my family, to rest. Yes, its a luxury, and in hindsight, I would have done it again. To be able to be there for the kids while they were healing from our broken family, and be there with them while we transitioned moving across the country. I was so thankful that I was there with them, and for them. We had made a decision that I would not go back to work until they were securely settled in their new school, perfectly situated in their new environment. The time has finally came.
So, for the past month I had applied to 100's of jobs with no luck whatsoever. I finally went to a temp agency, which became a head hunter for me. Within 2 weeks they had me scheduled for back to back interviews with several companies. I was excited that I was the front runner for a few, and it was even more exciting when 2 of them were scrambling to hire me first! It was nice to be able to choose which would be better for me and my family. I made my choice, was hired on! The company liked me so much that they bought my contract out with the temp agency and hired me directly starting on November 1st. Yahoo!!

My former husband decided to take a trip out here this past weekend to see Kayce and Julia. I was really very nervous, and had some anxiety surrounding his visit. Things had been a little tense between us, and I wasn't sure how he was going to behave towards Glenn. I released my fears though, and surrendered them, knowing that all would be well. Thank Goodness I did!
The visit was wonderful! The kids loved seeing him, he was very nice to all of us, and we were able to hang out a few times. All of us! This was a major milestone indeed. I do hope that this will be the first of many visits and that he might bring our oldest; Ryan the next time he comes to visit.

In Wedding news, We have chosen our photographer. Her name is Amber Marie, and she is very cool. I will be writing a blurb about her in our Wedding news website. Now we just need to find a bakery and a dress and we are pretty much set with the big stuff. WOOHOO!!

Let's see.... Oh yes! Kayce, Julia and I will be flying out to Washington November 19th to visit family and friends. It will be a super long visit, staying until the 27th. We will get to hang out in Seattle for a day as well, and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I will get to see everyone, and feel full with their loves once again. We probably won't be out there again until May or so, so This will have to last me a while!

This month, I have witnessed the meaning of the word community. We live in a Burroughs called Westview. Its a small community where everyone knows each other, where we have a few mom and pop shops, the school and the firehouse all on one street. A few weeks ago, we got a flyer from the school saying that there would be an evening hayride at our closest local Pumpkin Patch farm. So we bundled up and took off. The entire school of Westview, and their families were all there. We were loaded up onto wagons and took off at twilight on a 45 minute ride, sitting in soft hay. The night was clear, the stars were out, the smell of the earth was heavy in our noses. It was awesome. When we were finished we found several bonfires with marshmallow roasting.
Then, last night, The parents and kids lined up on our main street, and most of the kids got into their Halloween costumes and there was a parade down the street. Police escorted, Military veterans holding the flag, marching high school band, baton twirlers (All in their Halloween costumes too) and children from infants through Jr. High came marching down the street to show us their costumes. It was awesome.
This is where I live. I am so grateful to be able to give my kids this small town feel, and the closeness of community. Its awesome.
Thanks for listening. I think your all caught up in our lives! :)
